It is here (Always On Top 64bit)
October 27th, 2008
Well after few days playing around with different blogging systems, I decided that WordPress is the way to go :-) . Now that my blog is all set up and ready and I had a chance to test PyroTopIt for few days I think we can release version 1.0, Its free so enjoy
As I mentioned in my last Post , I couldn’t find a free program out there that can let you set any windows on top, which would also work on a 64bit system. so I decided to make one. Being a programmer I have about 20 windows open at any given time on my dual monitor so I really find this useful I hope you find it useful as well.
Here is the 64 bit Version : 64 BIT
This is an open source software since it was built on top of an open source software (with modifications ), I will be releasing the source soon, it needs some cleaning up and commenting, Just wanted to get the executables out so people who are desperately looking for a 64bit solution can download it and enjoy.
Please let me know if you have any problems
Cheers guys,
Amir

Even after installation of the included .net framework update I keep getting a “Could not hook in to 32bit aoolication” error.
Any ideas on how to fix ?

Hey Kevin,
you get that error if the app fails to start “Helper.exe” which is needed to hook into 32bit processes.
To avoid this make sure you run the app as administrator
Let me know if you still have any problems
cheers,
Amir

Just a quick note,
I updated the installation package. It will not be asking for .net 3.5 as a requirement any more.
Some people weren’t too happy about that
Cheers,
Amir

Amir, you’re a livesaver! Works like a charm on x64 Vista.
Any chance we might have a look at the sourcecode, maybe make it a sourceforge project?

I’ve noticed that it works on machine’s that have Visual Studio installed, so I’m guessing that there’s a dependency missing somewhere.
Also, I’d like to note that on Windows 7 it only seems to work for 32-bit apps, and not for 64-bit apps.

Kevin,
which 64bit apps did you try running Win7×64?
I’ve tried the 64bit versions of WinRAR 3.90, Process Explorer 11.33 and the Logitech G-Series Keyboard Profiler 3.03.1333 and it works just fine.
I’m running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and currently do not have VS installed.
